Fall is when cool-season grass stores energy in the crown. A 24-0-10 style food, or similar, with some potassium is the application that pays you back in April.
Steps
- Wait until daytime highs are consistently below the low 80s.
- Apply 0.75–1 lb N per 1,000 sq ft.
- Water in. Keep mowing as long as the grass is growing.
